dear friends

please take a minute to study the wiring diagram below:

http://rapidshare.com/files/437605850/wiring_diagram.pdf

you will note that relays x61, x62, x63 are wired on the neutral.

can anyone explain how these are switched, can't see coils on diagram anywhere

thanks ;)

Coils aren't shown as they are part of the board wiring and not too relevant to the wiring scheme overall.

They respond to sensor inputs and the software drives the relays.

they're the fan speed control, fan windings fine, cap is fine, motor is getting power but not turning as these relays all switch motor..

question is how to check coil voltage using this drawing?

About all you can do is take the PCB off the machine base and visually trace the fan wire connector back to a relay.

You might find the relay reference printed on the pcb. There will be a least three relays side by side.

As stated these relays would be switched by the PCB - I would imagine from either the states of the HP switches (63H1 on the lower board and 63H2 board on top right) and maybe from one of the thermisters.

If there is a 240V feed on pin 2 and also pin 4 for the capacitor then I would try to find if there was a neutral connection on pins 3, 5 or 6. From there going to the relays to trace the neutral connection back. On the PCB relays hopefully you can get to the soldered terminals to check for a signal voltage with some sharp probes.

Couldn't find a service details relating to the exact unit but a close match here:
http://www.pcug.org.au/training/training-rm-instructions/TD25%20-%20AirConditionerServiceManual.pdf
on page 50 shows a similar motor explaining the wiring arrangements if that helps clarify your testing of the windings.

Cheers,

Andy.
