I was looking at a Foster solo freezer (fitted into the side wall)

Donkeys years old but has ben chugging away ok for ever -in a Triggers new broom kinda way

After buring my hand twice I investigated and found there is a heater strapped to the discharge line

I don't remember seeing this before.

Also it had two sol valves in the line too, which leads me to think if the top one failed then the hot gas has nowhere to go as the bottom one is defrost?

hi
it seems like it has a hot gaz defrost it may be energized during defrost to warm up the discharge line

That'll be the hand burn heater...:D

Those jubilee clips make it look a bit bodgey rather than original fitment. I wonder if it has had problems with defrosting previously.

Tell me about it.. I was feeling my way round and it wasn't till the second time I burnt myself that it twigged
It is Foster we're talking about...So I wouldn't be surprised if it was original!
