Hi Guys,

If you look in the chit-chat forum there is a thread about Sickpay. If you look at most job advertisements they more or less say the same thing "all the usual benefits"

Well what are they. I have posted a list. Could you put a tick in employed so we know roughly how many have voted and can work out percentages for each one

The problem with his industry is there are to many guys out there who don't realise there value and are working for peanuts. I see it every day good young guy's using there own transport, phones, money for expenses etc. Its costing them money to go to work. There are multi skilled people highly motivated and talented being paid labourer's wages and rates. I just don't understand it I would'nt get out of bed for less than 20 Euro a dayand a bus ticket! Ha Ha Ha!

Hey, I've voted but what does 'In Employment (Y)' mean; am I being dense and missing it or what ? No, don't answer that ;)

Should always have a company phone, worked for one major firm with no fuel card. Claim back at 10p per mile on a car, vans were upto 13p depending on engine size. The pain was getting money back, spending your own dosh on company fuel has cost me alot of apr on the visa card due to poor pay back time. Wouldn't work for a company without fuel card.

Hi Guys,

Sorry, didn't explain myself very well.

The In Employment (Y) box was there so everyone ticked it, then we would know how many people have voted and then get a percentace of the others.

For instance 25 in employment, 12 in sickpay should in theory mean 50% of those who voted get sickpay

Hope this makes more sence

Thanks for all you guys making your comments But do you not think that if our friendy TAX man looks at this site he might think that he / she could cash in on things like mobiles etc. etc. so I think a little less info should be given out????maybe!

I think that the tax man will already have figured out that things like mobies and vans are used by sevice engineers, they are as vital to this industry as vacuum pumps, and therefore a tool. The taxman has already set rules to say how and when these tools can be used without incuring penalties

i can't say anything about that. I only got fixed salary monthly no matter there are often overtime work. I believe we have the cheapest engineer here. I wonder it's a good thing or bad thing for uc Chinese-:p. mutter I don't know when it will be improved:?

It wouldnt be worth it.

Ay,
But have you noticed that even though fuel and insurance costs have rocketed, the amount you can claim back from HM has not changed for years.
