Hi,

Can anyone please advise how can I prevent the galvanized steel refrigerant piping from being rusty..
Apparently, most of my outdoor refrigerant piping turns rusty over a year after installation.. Will painting being the piping from rusty? If it's does help, how long can it last? As Singapore is very humid and subjected to frequent rainfall, I believe steel will turn rusty very soon if nothing is done.. Hopefully, I can get some advice from anyone of u. Thanks

Use stainless tube instead!

Firstly make sure the pipework is heavily galved. After you have finished threading and screwing it together, paint the exposed steel with galvafroid paint. Just make sure you leave the lid off when you buy it to allow the thinners to evaporate and thicken it up.

I take it you work on high volume capacity systems then? I just wondered why you used steel pipe instead of good old copper.
