maytag gc2224gekb - continuous defrost cycle

Something tripped my socket breaker in the kitchen and the freezer defrosted within a few hours. We removed all the food but then about 10 hours later it started to freeze again. It has since defrosted again and seems to be stuck in this cycle.

Does the trip of the breaker possible indicate something blew in the freezer? Nothing else that I can see has shorted.

What might the problem be? The control card maybe?
