Hello everybody, I have a scenario in one of the stores that we are servicing, these are the following:

a. System is a parallel two-stage bitzer, S4G-12.2 x 4 units with external subcooler.
b. defrosting type is through hot gas.
c. gas pressure when defrosting is at 15 to 17 bars (approx. 45 to 50 degC).
d. showcase being defost per position is a Linde IRIOS 500 SG A3 (2 x 2.50 m length cabinet) and they have five lines with this composition + 3 walk-in coldrooms.
e. ambient temp at the stores selling area is at +28 degC way above the design parameters for the showcase which is +25 degC.
f. defrosting time is 40 mins. twice a day, one in the am and 1 in pm
g. defrosting cluster is three positions will defrost first (pos 1 starts from 0400-0440 pos 2 0440-0520 pos 3 0520-0600) there was a 2 hours cooling period before the next batch of showcases will defrost.

System evap. temp when cooling is at -35 to -38 degC and when defosting it goes up to -30 degC.

Refrigerant cylinder is full.

Problem now is, ice is being form in the evaporator fins near the return air grills after 5 days of operation. Is the ambient temp in the selling area a big factor on this problem?
