hotpoint FF63P - power on, but fridge and freezer not working

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I have a problem with my hotpoint FF63P (frost free model). The power to unit is seemingly fine, as the lights on the front are coming on and also the light inside the fridge comes on. However, neither fridge or freezer are working.

Any ideas? and how much it will cost to fix?

Thermostat faulty but you may find that it is part of printed circuit board. Not cheap!!!

This also has a defrost timer, if it isn't the thermostat it's the timer. Find the timer and turn the small dial to see if it's stuck on heaters. If when you turn it nothing happens then it's the thermostat. If the compressor starts up it's the timer

Thanks for the info on the timer - any idea where this would be?
If it is the timer - is it expensive and is it as easily replaced as the thermostat?
