York Compressor Oil Pump

I have problem on the oil pump operations of the York Compressor model PA 43 which always tripped to the oil pressure. We replaced the oil pressure transducer and the oil pump but still the oil pressure dropped to below 50psi when it was operates in continously hours. But on the oil pressure gauge was above 50 psi. Is there something wrong with microprocessor controls or the transducer?

Hi Ijielo, is the oil pressure difference is fluctuating or maintaining on below 50PSI?

i m not sure abut PA series but i had similar problem on PC series compressor. When compressor is working can u measure oil pressure manualy with a manometr? i suggest u to change the transducers place if u can get sufficiant difference.

we have already replaced the transducer and the oil pump assembly as well but the result still the same...the oil pressure drop to 20psi.

actually, the oil pressure fluctuating previously and then it dropped to from 140 psi to 20psi in a few minutes of operations. with regards to dat we gathered, the actual pressure we get from pump is 100 - 140 psi but on the display pad of the controls (microprocessor) is below 70psi. We did change the oil pressure transducer and oil pump assembly still we got the same result. I suspects the it could be something wrong with the microprocessor...any other ideas or analysis on this...?

Will definitely you can get lower reading in the microboard because it reads the net oil pressure or the difference of Oil Pressure and Suction Pressure. How about your oil level? Have you ever check may be in some instances suddenly the oil level drops or may be the oil strainer is block. How about the automatic regulation valve (located in the compressor internal) may be the rate of oil passing and returning to the oil sump is more than the requirement. You must consider checking the internal of the compressor this kind of fault is not only in the microboard.

Hello ijielo.
Simply put as Dennis refers to above.
Sudden drop in oil pressure.
Oil pressure at pump fine.
Check for excessive internal wear!
Forget the Transducer / Main board etc.
Check out the Mechanical side.

It sounds like you have lost your bearing/s oil seal clearances.
