Good evening all,
I have just encountered a cooling problem on an undercounter, glass doored, bar blast chiller. The unit is less then one year old and its cooling capasity has been severly reduced. The fridge runs on R134a, via a condenser unit consisting of two fan motors and a 1/4 hp compressor. The evaporator is mounted on the inside roof of the unit and has one fan sucking air from the cabinet into itself and then forcing the air through two horozintaly apposed evaporator coils. The problem it that the one side of the evaporator freezes up and the air flow is blocked, on the one side by a silid block of ice. As this unit is situated in a very remote pary of northern Bostwana, where there are no spares or tools available, I have not been unable to check the pressures, but no obviouse leaks were found. Do you think that this could be a low gas problem ?

Thanks Errol

Could be low gas or it could be bad airflow.

could be quite a few things contributing to the issue and you didn't really provide enough information to break down possibilities
