If you could change, add, or get rid of something on any brand of supermarket case what would it be and why?

deep coils (able to remove a lot of moisture) and a good airscreen, nothing can substitute for these two things

Hatches in the case for easy access to probes so you dont have to empty all of the shelves and remove the back to get at a probe.

Covers which give you easy access to the evaporator without undoing a million screws, and a sectional fan baffle which is easy to remove. Nothing worse if a case ices up and you have to defrost it there and then and you spend half the day taking it apart and trying to lift 12ft of fan baffle by yourself.

Smooth edges on pieces of metal. Some of the junk getting kicked at the minute you have to be careful not to slice your self on the edges of sections of case.

It may sound simple but having a wiring diragram on each case that you can actually read and understand.

Am sure al think of some more.

All of the above handy features were eliminated around 15 years ago to save around .... 3 pence per case...

Easy access to the main electrical panel which, in these times of H&S, should be mounted underneath the cabinet. Plenty of room under the cabinet to get to the drainage, pipework on top of the cabinet with easily accessable ball valves inside the cabinet. A well laid out electrical panel with a wiring diagram stuck on the inside of the panel lid and all cables numbered!

Hi,

All the probes easy access, tev and shut off valves so you can get to them and not have to send in a small child to access things, nice simple sensible controllers not ones that you need a degree in astro physics to figure out. wiring diagrams that you don;t need an electron microscope to read, and maybe in english might help.

In fact design and build new cases let service engineers rip out the crap out you don't want or need, then rebuild them like that and hey presto a cabinet that might work and be easy to work on.

don't want much hey ho, happy christmas

As NoNickName said,,,doors,,,yes please,we waste too much power with open vertical cases. We would have smaller compressors less cold aisle effects and more efficent cases...bring on doors.

a sporlan over a danfoss? you will want teddingtons next do they have them over the water as far as cases go a standard waste thread that seals with enough room under the cab to remove it

Hell yeah! Specially freezer cases, done my fair share of lugging buckets of water from store room/butchery area!
