MMM bit embarressed to ask something so simple..one of my customers has an existing roof top package unit and wants me to replace it with similar onto existing ducwork, NOT replace it with splits which is my experience.

1.Who supplies rooftoppackage units in 2010 please?
2. is this a job for an aircon co ?...
seems to me it may be more of a buiding lifting job, so perhaps better to leave customer to get a builder???????

Obviosly i,ve thried to convince custof high running cost of cooling/heating ambient air,but due to difficulty of running pipoworkin the building he wants this system replaced.

Any comments appreciated

Well, you could start with Carrier.. (or Google)

Enjoy the challenge, engage a heavy lifting contractor to provide cranage, banksman and removal of the redundant kit.

www.Lennoxeurope.com (http://www.Lennoxeurope.com) and Trane are some other suggestions and are still in production.

Goodman makes very good gaspacks ... I got so many complements here in las vegas NV. about them that I replaced my two roof Units No complaints from my wife either!

Daikin has just launched their new rooftops as well, maybe you can have a look at that too....

In the U.K, it'd have to be Trane or Lennox. They've pretty much got that sector of the market sewn up in my experience, have a good range, and can offer you some assistance with making the right choices.
My personal choice would be a Trane since I knew them inside out when I worked there, but I was always impressed with the Lennox units I worked on as well.
Talk to Keith Taylor at Trane Basingstoke if you can (he's semi retired last I knew) he's the guru on packaged rooftop units.
