Hi - can anyone tell me the true availibility of R22 and the cost. I am advising tennats with a couple of years to run on their leases and it is not necesserily in their interest to change refrigerant gas because the lease expires before the ban comes into effect.

Thanks. :)

At the begining of the year, in Spain, there were around 45.000tons of R22 in the installations. In the UK, it could be more or less the same quantity. You only need to recover and recycle, then you have a "very cheap" R22. :)

Nando.

The current range of HFC refrigerants are not the end solution as we have solved the problem of ozone depletion but have actually increased global warming potential so I expect there will be a rethink in the near future,co2 and r600a or nh3 spring to mind.

Unless the system is broke, then don't fix it.
