Gumham-Bush Split unit Air Conditioners

Hi All, I have been asked to install two Dunham-Bush Split unit Air cons, Moder number HP482C outdoor unit and CS1202M indoor. The pipe sizes are 3/4" Suction & 1/2" liquid line. The pipe runs will be about 50 mts in length. Firstly is that length workable and if so how much extra oil and R22 gas must I add to this installation, per unit?

Not familiar with Dunham Bush splits, only their fan coils and chillers.

Most splits need an extra 20g-50g/m additional charge over and above the factory charge, but I would proceed with caution without the exact manufacturers recommendations.

Can you still legally install R22 units in SA?

Many thanks for you reply and sorry about the bad spelling. Yest R22 is no problem here in Zimbabwe / Zambia & South Africa.

By the way what gasses are there available to replace R22?
