Hi guys,
My mate has a compressor (Daewoo HSL27YE-5) which he is using to run a freezer. He only has a i10Honda inverter generater which will only start it if it is a full revs but cant start it at eco idle down. Is there a starting capacitor he could wire in to help during start up loads. If I remember correctly he said he measured the startup amps to be 11, but he can start another compressor that draws 8amps.
From what I've read sofar there should be a capacitor avalible for it. Or am I wrong?
Thanks

Found some wiring diagrams for that compressor but no details given for the capacitor sizes,... we'll keep looking.

Found a fridge service manual which show a 290v / 50 mF capacitor being used.

Hi there, a 27YE-5 is a 1/3 HP compressor, same capacity as a Danfoss FR11A. The EU10-I generator is an excellent power source( use it all the time for work) but it is rated at 850watts or 3.7amps/230volts and i would not go pushing its limits. You would be far better off using the EU20-I, that has double capacity.. mike.

Thanks for your replys.
Mike, Shouldnt the starting capacitor hold/deliver the required amps during startup? Then the eu10 can idle down and run it easily.
