Hi,

Customer has a 5 year old 24000Btu Haier which is giving problems.

1/ On arrival locked out
2/ Switch off mains and attempt restart
3/ Red lamp (Power/health) lights up...then
4/ Green lamp (Operate) lamp lights...and
5/ Vanes open + outdoor unit starts
6/ Indoor fan does not start (even if spun)
7/ After 10 secs system shuts down and...
8/ Power/Health lamp flashes... no sequence , just once.

Problem could be (on board PCB) fan capacitor, or could be fan motor... How can I decide ?

We installed Haier Cassettes at The M.D.'s office at Rover, Longbridge.

They regularly caused problems which Haier tried to say was the lights flickering in the same frequency as the remote which caused the red light to come on the Circuit board and the unit to do nothing.

The only cure was to power the unit down and back on again - then all was fine.

To get around this problem, i installed a Sangayomi time clock to cut the power supply off at midnight and back on again at 5 am - I told the MD it was to save him money and thus the environment - he was very impressed.

We never got another call out :D
