View Full Version : Scotsman MV12 does first harvest, and then nothing
Hi all..
Have a mv12, it will do the first harvest, but then just stops, until it is resetted, have not had much to do with ice machines, but would love some ideas on where to look and what to do. Not a refrig guy, but am ex Air force tech, with a electronic engineer degree.
Thanks in advance.
Rob
Hi All,,
After getting the unit working, the problem is after the first harvest, the unit stops and the reset light comes up.. Once the reset button is pressed, off it goes until the the next harvest, then a repeat.

Hello.
Probably, the cause is too high condensing temperature.
Thanks Juri B.
Was told that the alarm LED (one below the reset button) should blink if high condensing temp, and is solid if the defosting cycle took too long, is this true, or am I barking up the wrong tree, lol.
Rob
And if this is true with reference to the LED, what is causing the problem, and how do I overcome it.

Which type the condenser is : air cooled or water cooled ? What temperatures are?
Yuri B
Temp here outdoor max 21 degree C, but it does the the same when -7 degree C. No difference..

Right, its controller would not allow the unit to work below 1 degree C, the same way.
Is not the condenser clogged with dust (with anything), is it clean, is there free space enough to dussipate heat, are not the condenser fins sqeezed, is not it too hot around, fan rotates properly, is not the unit losing its refrigerant charge, is not the hot gas bypass partially left open while unit freezes, what pressure it is, subcooling, sensor not faulty, etc ?
You do not say what you have found apart from leds flashing (I do not do anything with ice cube machines last years but on the ones I saw leds were not blinking).
