Hi all; I made a design 4 cold store in a city where the temp. reach 46 C. I thought the basement could be used 2 make energy saving as there will be no direct solar radiation & the ceiling will be cold as it is the floor of refrigerated rooms also.
I couldn't know the temp of the basement before the design is implemented, as 2 calculate the RE load.
Please advice

Thanks in advance
Sonic

Most likely 12-14°C.

I would reckon the basement temps would be equivalent to average ground temps surrounding the basement.

Nike123;
Thank you, is it a ratio from the 46C or your expert estimates.

Magoo;
Thank you; but I cant get the surrounding ground temp. I only know the air temperature.

Nike123;

That is based at my experience here where I live and at average basement temperature. Maybe in your part of world it is different to some extent.

Check the air temps in basement and compare to the wall temps, drill a hole in wall and check ground temps and the floor as well. If +46C outside I would figure ground temps in the 30's

Do u think the energy saving & hence the cost saving I aim 2 achieve deserve this basement building?

Hi Sonic.
anything thats saves power will be cost effective. Access to the basement area is another consideration.

Dear Nike123 & Magoo
I want to calculate the load for each of the rooms I've desiged & I want it to be as accurate as possible so I think I should use a software, do u know any load caculatig software has free trail versions or any simplified way. I'm time bounded.

I met a geological Dr in my city he told me that average temp 3 meters underground is 28 C, your estimate is amazing.
