Sorry if this has been posted in the past.
Got called out to a mitsi ceiling unit "leak" today. Found an oily/sticky clear thick liquid inside one corner of the plastic grill. there is also evidence that it came from the suction line for about 3 inches towards the flare nut and into the unit. Not seen this before and Mitsi tech are also baffelled.
The condensate system works well and is at the other end of the evap.........any ideas please .

Wonder whether something nasty was growing under the pipe insulation and was 'sweating' down into the unit.

Make sure you wash your hands. ;)

yes i suppose it could be. it was like a clear odourless thick oil mixed with syrup. It took ages to wash it off my hands with fairy liquid. I did a leak check at the flare nut just incase it was refrigerant oil mixed with ??? but all is ok.
