I have trouble finding information for circular duct. Some websites even suggested that circular duct is equivalent to pipe .

From an academic viewpoint a circular duct would be modeled using the same equations as for a pipe.

so, do u think its correct to use pipe dimensions and standards to design a ducted fan component ?

The design equations applicable to piping may be applied to any fluid.

You may want to research a little in some Fluid Dynamics, or even Heat-Transfer books.

What sort of problems are you having with using a duct for an air system?

Maybe we can help.

well, i am looking for information for duct standards. the best ive got so far is SMACNA round industrial duct construction standards.

And, some resources claim round duct as pipe while some does not.

The Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) Hand Book: Section 4 has pretty much all you need to know.
