Depending on the application I have used the KMP Kap Kit or even fitted an expansion valve many times.

Some of the selection software from eg Tecumseh has an option where the cap tube is automatically selected for the exact application you intend to use the compressor for. You can simply find the equivalent compressor on the program, enter the design conditions and then presto the software will tell exactly what dia and length cap to use!

Many thanks to "Chemi-cool" for the cap sizing chart. Been all around the planet on the "net" to replace the old "SP" chart from Australia that I have been using for many years. --& I end up getting this info locally' (I'm based in Eilat)
Cheers!

its really good software if you can get hold of the CD. i also use the ACC Compressor website (electrolux). the larger (over 18cc) compressors they make are poor but the software they have on the website is really good
