FTXD50JVEA / RXD50JVEA.

Won't run. H6 fault code. No residual output current from compressor, which u would expect even if at fault.

Daikin say replace PCB, compressor and fan.

Is it possible to diagnose more accurately, as customer rightly points out, thats like your garage telling u to replace the engine, gearbox and wiring loom and that will fix your car. So would buying a new one.

Daikin adamant that all three components must be replaced, but interestingly customer had a similar problem just before the warranty expired, and only the PCB was replaced.

Any assistance / comments appreciated.

I would go with a new unit which will offer 5 years warranty with not much more outlay..

Replace the unit.
It's like $650 just for both outdoor PCBs. Not worth fixing daikin when they are out of warranty, parts are too pricey.
Get a panasonic if you want something more reliable, or a fujitsu if you care about cheap parts 5 yrs from now.

Changing all parts seems like poor advice to me from a manufacturer. Compressor, fan and PCB can all be checked for correct operation.

The fan motor will be a simple resistance test, PCB can be checked for correct output, compressor can be judged easily enough. Download the manual and follow the steps for H6, im sure you will work it out.
