Can any body tell me the volume of 18000Kg of R134a in Litres i.e
1 Kg of water is 1 Litre
1 Kg of R134a is ?

Cheers guys

15000 litres I think

I don't know if this helps.

Liquid density (1.013 bar and 25 °C ) = 1206 kg/m3

If a cubic metre is 1000 kg or a 1000 litres does that mean that 1000 ltrs would weigh 1206kg??

Don't know if that helps.

Density of any liquid depend on temperature!
You need temperature to find specific volume at that temperature. Multiply your specific volume with your weight and you get actual liquid volume. All data you need you could find and calculate in Cool-pack software in Refrigerant calculator.

For example:
T=-24
specific volume of saturated liqid: 0,00073 m3/kg
18000 kg x 0,00073m3/kg = 13,14m3

Your volume of 18t of liquid r134a at -24°C is 13,14m3

Thanks for the help guys I had a presumption that everyone was calculating at 20 degrees C . it was only a generic question or a thought but thanks a way;)

I don't think they do a recovery bottle that big anyways. :D

Funny ya should say that because that is exactly what I needed to know for as I have doing some large refrigerant transfers recently.
With know scales and only a sight glass liters indicator I had to work it out
I never thought of using coolpack
Nike to the rescue again ,Cheers for Nike;)

In addition to coolpack softwear
nike123's exampel for refrigerant in liquid state.
In some cases you can measure only pressure of refrigerant and than with coolpack's help calculate specific volume.
P.S. manometer measure relative pressure, pressure in coolpack in absolute pressure.
