Guys I am working on a Manitowac Ice Machine Model SY0424A R404A Air Cooled unit.
The problem I am having is Ice wont drop from the Ice cube cell after harvest cycle.
Here are my operating pressures during freeze Cycle my Low side goes from about 60 psi down all the way to about 30 and High side Goes from 310 to 260,
when unit goes into Harvest lowside goes up to about 90 psi and High side 180 psi. But the ice will never fall after 3.5 minute, it always gets stuck on the evaporator or sometimes it would release maybe half way and get stuck.
I have removed the water curtain and check evaportaor don't see any scale buildup or mold. From the pressure it doesn't look to me it was low on charge, I tried everything from Tilting the back of the ice machine to make it easier for ice to drop but still no luck.
I've also checked if water was coming down during harvest so I am sure drain valve is not a problem.

Could this be a Bad evaportaor? I don't mean leak but shape maybe bent?

mate it could be a number of things ither the plate evaporator is dirty give it a clean with some ice machine cleaner just to be sure. is the machine level? also with that series of machine there is a condensor fan cycle control check that this is not allowing the fan to operate in harvest mode but most likely the evaporator is dirty so give it a clean and see how it goes

Ice thickness probe out of adjustment depending on the model if it has one.

Had a machine that was kicking my butt. Ice thickness was always different ,changed float pressures were good(refrigeration side) Ended up being the circiut board they have been a problem

Ice machine was leveled and been sitting there for 3 years, fan cycle control had to be working or else High side pressure could not have got up to 180 psi during harvest.
Evaporator was not dirty didnt see any mold or slime or scale build up.

Unless 180 psi on high and 90 psi on low is not a good pressure during harvest?

what is the ambient temp around the machine?

ambient temp is 80 degrees at the condenser

then the pressures are normal. even if the plate dosent appear dirty run some cleaner through it you would be suprised.check the ice thickness also it may have somthing to do with ur slow harvest

I agree, run a cleaning cycle with solution, you will be pleasantly surprised at result.

Not sure if this model is designed this way but some machines use a plate where the vertical and horizontal bars are separate pieces of metal. I have seen a few where the horizontals become detached from the back of the evap plate and sit slightly proud of the verticals. This causes the ice to stick and not fall properly. Hard to see if not looking for it. Run your hand over the plate to see if any are sticking out, if so, tap them back in with screwdriver handle or something soft.

Antz4570 I think you just cleared the puzzled for me,
when I was on the phone with manitowac ice they told me to check the evaportor solder on the plate and I did see slight detached and cracked solder from the Evap plate. And they told me to replace the evaporator. I never thought about tapping back and left the job with evaportaor estimate. Thanks for the advice.

My machine finishes the freeze cycle after Green light for Cube thickness goes solid. Red light for Harvest comes ON. Within 30 seconds, Harvest cycle stops and water starts to pump over the evaporator. Freeze cycle starts again. When I first started in Spring after being stored in Winter, It made 10 to 12 cycles fine. Then it start to make 2-5 cycles. Now it does not even complete first cycle after re setting. Could you help?
