Scroll compressor alarm

I have a scroll compressor on a space pack that's alarming out (danfoss A24 fault), when I pull off the solenoid that's attached to the Emerson oil pot the alarm goes off but then comes back? Any idea's why this alarm is happening plz?

is it a low oil alarm for that compressor,is the oil level low with foaming in it,plus is it an low temp pack

the oil level is half way across the sight glass, and yes its a low temp pack.

is the oil solenoid live and calling for oil as sometimes the liquid injection can open up to much and put liquid into the oil sep then the oil float,is it a traxoil float and if so what are the indicator lights showing

the oil solenoid is live because i can feel the magnetic pull on it when i pull it off, yeh its a traxoil float the light is green indicating ok.

if its live then theres a light to indicate that its calling for oil,it has a oil can symbol on it.is the alarm a24 for that comp or for something else as the oil float will show an alarm if its got a fault

yeh the a24 alarm code is for comp3 which is that comp

is the compressor running or just showing an alarm is it one of those large scrolls or just a small one

Its a small one the comp is not running

i take it the control circuit is okay through the hp/lp switches,if so i would say your oil float reg is fecked

Yeh there is only one hp/lp switch on the pack not individual comps, sound then pal I will get it changed

if its a new pack i would check the wiring as it wouldnt supprise me if it was wired up wrong although space packs are ushally well done

I got to site and the comp was alarming out Emerson oil pot was on amber again so I did the same took the solenoid off and reset it which made the comp run for about two hrs and then it tripped out the compressor again? So I think it's the Emerson oil pot?

is the comp full ov oil when it trips off ?

Hi Guys, there was a problem with the Moulded Plugs that are used on the Traxoils, the connections were breaking internally, a updated loom was supplied that had soldered terminals instead of crimped ones, this sometimes caused Alarms even though the Oil levels were ok, if the pack is a couple of years old, this could be the problem, i think they were upgraded the middle of last year,
