does anybody know what the fault code
E42 is for a daiya duct unit?

E42 it is KX2 error code - abnormal current cut of compressor CM1

thanks for this, sorted now,
its a unit we moved 2meters, it was wired into the existing ring so we put a new circuit in for it, turns out the live and neutral where the wrong way around coming into the house (spain's electric don't really care about polarity)
did a polarity test swapped them around and it is now working a treat,
