Why do the display cabinets keep tripping out except for blocked drains??

Because drains are not provided with any probe or sensor.

Sorry I ment why do they trip out and not because of the drains

Because clogged drains are not detected by the cabinets.

There must be some other reasons for them to. Why did your attention focus on drains?

Why do they trip? is a general question, a general answer would be because they are faulty... this doesn't help much in locating a fault and effecting a repair.
Is this a specific problem or just in general? What trips? what are you reseting to get them operational again? A description of the system, (integrals, or run off a pack etc) and any history of faults would be helpful.

Jon :)

At last thanks Jon, the cab runs off a pack the history is that they keep tripping out and get reset by the main board at the back of the store.

Is there any alarm code showing up? Or do you just keep resetting it for good?

graydog

I have never reset it I'm trying to find the real problem instead of just resetting it and running out the door

Good. But you are trolling, here. Is there any alarm showing up? Who is resetting the alarm?

Defrost heaters....evaporator fan motors.....solenoid coil...Trim Heaters .....lighting ballasts.....contactor coils....loose connections.....dodgy pcb....damaged cables or a weak MCB.......!

I walked into the store and the lady told me the cab keeps tripping out an engineer comes and turns it back on then it trips again, there is no fault code the cab is down to temp

And what does the engineer says when it trips? Does he just reset the alarm, or has he got any idea of why it trips?
Would you elaborate as much as possible on the details you know about?

How about defrost heaters ?

Is there more than one case on the MCB? are the cases on electric defrost, are the defrost times staggered? Do they trip at ramdom times or the same times.

Its a very general queston.

I believe you meant Ramadan.

Although I do wonder why would you think they'd trip during a religious fasting month in particular as opposed to any other non fasting month

It's certainly a very interesting theory and expanding, I wonder if it would affect cabinets with Halal meat more than others?

Put a datalogger in the cabinet that trips out. maybe you could pinpoint a specific time or pattern to the event going off temperature readings.. mike

Maybe.. if you were to reset it and stick around awhile checking the basics, do you know the timeframe between faults?
