I just stripped out the cascade systems from 2 Clive Hurley environmental chambers. It amounted to 334 kg and I got £1150 for it!!:D

Any similar stories?

I can beat that, me and another guy stripped out two calorifiers and mixed copper and brass (4" valves and pipe) from a redundant boiler house that due to be demolished. We got just over £2500 for it. It`s the only time I`ve ever cleaned out a scrap dealer. Mind you I`ve not worked so hard and got so dirty for years. Seems copper and brass is on the up again.

scrap prices are deffinatly up again, so worth keeping all those bits of 1/4 or copper driers that you accumulate, as tesco say every little helps. Only just found out though that as well as copper, aly condensers and evaps most scrappies now take fan motors, it pains me the 1000's ive thrown away over the years, its not much (I think about 50p per kilo) but when you consider how many we change it adds up
