What would you say a probable cause for my guage to really flutter while reading oil pressure? Crimping my hose shows a reading of 55 (25 suct pres) on a copeland discuss compressor but I'm tripping on oil (sentronic) once per day. Flutters hard enough that I sometimes can't see the needle. No floodback, no blowby (5Hg), oil level in float =2/3 full.

Maybe clogged sump filter? Just looking for some ideas before I address this. Thanks.

Flutter could be due to un-damped gauges being used.

Oilpump operation causing pulsing ?

Hi:
try closing your check valve all the way and open it back just a tad ,this should help, also as said before you should use glitzerine filled gauges!
