I have installed a VFD on my indoor fan on my heat-pump system. In summer this allows me to run the evaporator at lower temperature to assist in removing humidity. In winter with low outdoor temperature (4-5C) the outside coils freeze up very quickly. Would it help to slow down the indoor fan, raising high-side pressure and therefore also low-side pressure?

This is a Hitachi system with capillaries on both indoor and outdoor coils. The outdoor has a by-pass check so in cooling mode there is free-flow to the evaporator capillaries. The indoor has no by-pass , so in heating mode the refrigerant must pass through two sets of capillaries. Is this a problem?
