Hi There,

Wonderin if someone can enlighten me

Fitted new compressor and capacitor today the capacitor provided was different to the older one. it was bigger in size and said 40 uf instead of 35uf which was on the old one

Fitted the capacitor and no problems with system
Just wonderin
1. what uf means
2. if it would make any difference to the system in any way??

thanks in advance

uf = micro farad
if it's a little bit bigger , that's ok , the system will work normally

Capacitors are rated by microfarads (uf) and voltage. The rated capacitor should not be
changed, since the motor operates at maximum efficiency when using a specified
capacitor size. Although a plus or minus 10 % rule of thumb applies to the microfard rating
when changing out a capacitor. If necessary, the replacement capacitor voltage rating can
be higher than specified, but not lower without effecting the capacitor life.
