My dad is setting up a brine water block ice plant for customer, put aside the system, would like to know which is better, normal chill water or hot water to ice cans?

Normally we are using filter chilling water , after reading the "Mpemba effect" would like to give it a try, just wonder anyone try it b4?

1. Cool down Hot water to 30*c direct to ice cans.

2. Chill the cool down hot water to 0*c then to ice cans.

I'm asking this because if it really work can save about 3k at building chilling water system.

I have read many explanations of the Mpemba effect from theorys on conduction to theorys on dissolved gasses. I have never seen a study on cost savings in a refrigeration process bu it would be interesting

I find the Mpemba effect an interesting subject, but I would not base the sizing of my refrigeration system on it.
The apparent faster freezing seen by some does NOT mean that the heat load seen by the compressor is less.
