View Full Version : zanussi fridgefreezer problem

the freezer compartment does not seem to be working properly. Top part an everything is frozen but further down it it less cold an on the bottom draw the ice is slowly melting. Could this be a failing thermostat or could it be something else? Thanks.

yes it is a frost free. How would i determine if its a gas leak?

More likely freezer air circulation fan obstructed/choked with ice/evaporator choked with ice. Many and varied possibilities (defrost timer/element(s)/blocked drainage tube et.c. et.c.)
Try the tried and tested defrost (switch off completely, leave AT LEAST 48hrs to thoroughly defrost) and switch back on and monitor. If it works correctly (will take about 24 hrs to tell) you knoww it was a defrost/drainage issue. Where you go after that depends on your knowledge andd spannering skills.
