Hitachi capacity problem

Got sent to site today to look at a Hitatchi utopia DC Inverter ras-8grnm.

Found system with no cooling and compressor frequency at 30hz due to discharge temp reading of 101DegC, indications of short of gas.

Recovered refrigerant, found the leak and repaired, however when i turned system back on i got a fault code of "31" on the outdoor board.

31 is Incorrect Capacity Setting or Combined Capacity between Indoor Units and
Outdoor Unit.

I checked DSW3 was set correctly although i hadnt been near the boards so could no way have accidentally switched a dip switch.

I checked all the dip switches were set as they should be and reset power but still i'm getting the incorrect capacity setting.

The unit has been running fine for 18 months.

Has anyone ever come across this before?

a 31 code can also mean that power has been lost to a indoor unit .turned off power for indoor unit while other indoor units are running. this results in a differant setting of the total indoor unit capacity in the same refrigerant cycle. hope this helps

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply.

The problem was a blown fuse on the indoor board but i had to hire scaffold to get up to the unit as it was high level.

All sorted now:)
