Hello
Does anyone know what causes the springs mounts inside a hermetic compressor to break? I have a site with a walk in freezer which has had two compressor failures and each time the internal spring mounts have failed and caused the actual compressor inside the case to lean against the inside of the case, which it makes it extremely noisy.
Thanks.

Hi Pykester1
Is there any possibility they were damage before installation? If not check for liquid flood back, this would cause massive vibration. Is the correct compressor for the application being used?
I suggest to watch the system for a few cycles measuring pressures, superheat and sub cooling.

short cycling will also shorten the life of the springs

Hi tbirdtbird, what exactly do you mean by hard starts?
