Hello!

An excellent site! Thank you all for the useful information!

This is my first post on this site.

Until today, we worked only with compressors Bitzer (industrial area), but now want to work with Howden.
Can anyone suggest a good supplier of oil separator?

I hope for your help.

Welcome to the RE forums. I just noticed you have a similar post in another section. Please only post the question in one area. This helps us to help you and it helps to keep the forums clean of multiple posts.;)

Sizing an oil separator for a screw compressor is based on the volume of discharge gas, operating pressures, the refrigerant/gas, and the separating element performance. There is also quite a bit of interaction and dependency on the vessel internals (plates, nozzles, etc) and can be quite involved.

My suggestion is to ask Howden if you are buying the compressor from them. Or better yet, buy the compressor package from Howden and let them size the separator.

Thanks US Iceman and sorry for multiple posts (I have little experience of working in the forums - prompt how to remove the other post?)

Question of the oil separator has arisen from the fact I have the power to make units based on the Howden compressor, rather than buying them entirely , and also have the possibility of making various vessels. therefore wanted to know who is the supplier of oil separators for such firms as Grasso, York, etc. .. or know how I can calculate the oil separator with all its internal device (Can anyone knows is a literature on the calculation?)

I'm certainly inclined to buy ready-separator:), but my searches so far not produced the desired result - so far seen only the manufacturers of vertical cyclone oil separators. While at these units are more common horizontal oil separators.

P.S. Also sorry for my English

SES makes good Howden packages, you can also get cheap original howden spareparts if you buy units from them.

They probably make standalone oil separators as well

Hello Canek,

Maybe you can try RM-Support, they built stand alone separators for Howden also.

Best Regards,
Jeroen

Thanks a lot! You helped me a lot.

I think we can assume the topic is closed

Most packagers have developed their own specific separator design with their package. There are a few places that build a generic oil separator, but they may not integrate into a workable system.

In addition to the oil separation, the oil separator is a reservoir and oil management system.

It sounds like you are wanting some to do your development work for you.
