Because if it is then I know of quite a few Netto's within a few metres of an Asda and they can't possibly be left open. Too close..

It depends on how much competition there is from the other majors.
If everyone is represented locally then it won't matter.
If they are that close they could become a satellite of the main store and be classed as one.

If no one else wants to buy the store, I doubt they will be forced to close it.
