Hi,
Could anyone help me with air con sizing problem please?
I am looking at 55 m3 microbiological laboratory with expected 10 ACH. There is one incubator running at 37 C 24 hrs a day and two equipment with combined power rating of 4 kW. Four persons are expected to work in the room. Worst outside air / ambient condition is 35 C at 85% RH and inside air hopefully can reach 23 C.
My calculation attempt:
- Ventilation load = ~41,000 kJ/h (72.09 kg.min/h.m3 * CMM * delta enthalpy) = 11 kW
- Load from people = 6 * 600 BTU = 3,600 BTU = ~3,800 kJ/h = ~1.1 kW
- Equipment load = ~6 kW
If I were to lump heat gain from envelope and miscellaneous item within 20% extra point, I end up with ~22 kW cooling load requirement.
Could any kind soul help confirm, feedback or correct my calculation and assumption here please?
Appreciate any help that can be given.
Thanks.
