We've had Mitsubishi SRK50ZG-S installed in our rented office recently (just a room in a building of serviced offices). It seems to work well but when it's in cooling mode it makes a loud buzzing noise (no longer than 5 seconds) every few minutes. When it's first turned on it seems fine for a while but after an hour or so it starts with the intermittent buzzing. The people in the office next door to us have the same problem (same unit attached to the same system).

The landlord is being a bit reticent about doing anything about it but if we can say 'it's probably xyz - you need to get it fixed' then maybe that would help. Any ideas much appreciated :)

sounds like the condensate pump starting and stopping ask for a quieter pump or get an independant ac eng to confirm it is fitted correctly

Yeah definatly sounds like the condensate pump. I bet its a mini lime or delta pack as its a common complaint.

is the drain hose outtlet lower than the condensate pump if so syphoning can occur so the pump buzzes loudl until it is primed. best to cut the hose as soon as it is outside and run 3/4 overflow pipe to remedy this
