Hello all,

Some time ago I came across a articel concerning the dangers of the use of POE oil used in systems where water is still present.
This articel stated that POE oil is in fact made with water, resulting in breakdown of the oil en so generating more water, and so on.
If anyone can point me to the right source it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Victor

I think the production process is: Ester+Acid => POE+Water

The final stage of the production process is the separation of water from POE.

I think then, that in the presence of water and heat acids can be produced. In the presence of water without heat the POE will congeal into an irreversible bloody/waxy consistency.

Thanks for your reaction Marc.

That is what actually happens, and what I remember of the information I read a time ago (rememberd the important things), but trying to find the original explanation on how and what, since i'm currently working on a sheet to educate the co workers, so I want to explain in detail.
