Do you know how to use ws-150 scales? As I have opened mine and quite simply can't weigh a bottle with an unknown amount of gas in. Is there a simple solution?

Hi Aircon467,

I'm not familiar with those scales. When i want to know how much refrigerant is in a bottle, i turn on the scale and wait till they say 00.0, then put the bottle on which lets say weighs 12.46kg, stamped into the bottle is the tare weight (empty weight) which is in this case 9.7kg.
So 12.46 - 9.7 = 2.76kg of refrigerant in the bottle.

When charging a system put the bottle on the scale, connect your hose, then press the zero button. As you charge the system, or indeed fill the bottle, the scale will display the extra refrigerant in or out. Its important not to move your gauges or hoses as this can add or subtract quite a few gramms to your measurments.

I always set up so my gauges are laying on a block of 2x4 and there is a little slack in the hose..

this way I can crack my gauges on and off and it doesnt bias the weight of the scale...
