Im new here!

Please help me on how to know the capacity of an window or split type airconditioner.

Hp
Btu
Kj
Kw
Ampere
W

Also how can i know the horsepower or ton of compressor. I only see in sticker is LRA.

Please help.
And also in refrigerator motor. How can i know the horsepower. If is 1/4 or 1/10 i dont know.

12000 btu =1 r-ton
3415watt =1 r ton
1ton ac consumes arnd 6.5amp+/-10%

Let me correct.
12,000 Btu/hr. = 1 TR
3.516 KW = 1 TR

Capacity is usually expressed in BTU/hr. or TR in airconditioning.

LRA is the max. in-rush current during initial start of the motor. You can safely estimate LRA = FLA x 6, for new motors use 7, then use FLA and compute the HP which is = FLA x Volatge x pf(0.85) / 0.746.

In refrigerator the 1/4 is the actual HP.

Hey thanks a lot.

Can i know the horsepower of compressor by its ampere.

I know only,

4 amp = 1 hp
0.6 amp = 1/10 hp

Correct me if im wrong.

And also, How can i know what the microfarrad ( uf ) of capacitor i will use for different horsepower of motor.

1.5 hp = 25 uf capacitor
0.06 hp = 3 uf capacitor

Correct me if im wrong.
How to calculate it.

And this
58 LRA = 2 TON
65 LRA = 2.5 TON

Please correct me if im wrong.

Sorry for my previous post:off topic:, the correct formula should be :
Motor HP = Rated voltage x FLA x pf(0.85 to 0.9)/746.
By this formula you can know the horsepower rating or rated current of your single phase(1P) motor.
For the capacitor, what is it running or start capacitor?,what type of single phase motor do you use?,is it PSC,CSCR,for what application?
