Hello:
I need a small (2kw) open drive scroll compressor for a heat pump application. Any suggestions?

The only open drive scroll i can think of would be for auto air con, google sanden scroll compressor and see what you can find.

I use Sanden 508 Automotive compressors all the time for testing in an open-drive environment.. most of them will handle a 1.5 ton load easily... there is also I believe a Sanden 708 which is a 2-ton compressor often fitted to Limousines and Busses...

being automotive it is pretty Beefy.. I would stick to running R-134a or a blend or an HC similar as the design of the compressor wont handle continuous use under High head pressures... trypically the High pressure cut-offs in automobiles are at 375-400 PSI and the comoressor is usually rattling pretty good at that point...

it is very easy to fit lines to them as well..

Thanks, cadillackid. It looks like the Sanden TRSA09 Scroll would work for me.

Could you please describe how you fit lines to them?
