Dear all,

Would like to get some advice here..

I intend to design one unit of ducted split unit into a home theatre room. The heat load required is around 20,000 Btu/hr. I would like to know:

(1) What is the desired sound pressure level (SPL) for air conditioner in home theatre room?

(2) What type of acoustic treatment can be done to reduce the sound pressure level of the A/C system?

(3) Is there any other requirement that we need to know when designing A/C system for home theatre room? Example: Type of grille, type of duct, air flow, etc...

Thanks...

Put duct unit in other room and use acoustically isolated ducting like this:

It is good that ducts have 2 or more direction changes. Choose duct diameter according to max air speed of 2m/s or lower. Over-dimension intake and exhaust grilles.
