HULTSTEINS is a company in Sweden that makes small to large transport units and I would like to know if any of you have had experience with their units. I would especially like to know about their hydraulic driven units. I understand that they are testing a full size trailer unit. Does anyone know anything about it?

25 years of experience in HULSTEINS!

About the hydraulic driven ones.
The are named after compressor size
Starting HH 7 to HH15

The hydraulic pump (Vickers PVE 21) is mounted on engine PTO and a hydraulic motor mounted inside the unit with electric motor and Compressor.
Nowadays Hultsteins us a microprocessor system with cab controll.

Hi bessershmit. Does Hulsteins have a website that you could post? I tried to google it but couldn't find it. Changing the spelling only turned up dairy cows :D

Thanks, but what I really need to know about is the larger ones that are only hydraulic driven. Or, even the smaller ones, if they are only driven solely by hydraulics. Are the customers who buy them happy running their refrigeration on hydraulics?

Thanks bessershmit! I re-read the thread and realized I had a senior moment! I mis-spelled the brand when I googled it

The customers are realy happy about hydraulics
most common in local distribution.
cause you have to maintain the truckengine runnin.

Low maintenace cost: no engine just a hydraulic filter
High heating capasity: Cooloant from truck engine

Diesel trailer units:
DH 15/20 4 cyl Kubota engine and Bock FKX 40 Compressor , R 404a Refrigerant.
Programmable Micro Processor Controll with
auto start, start/stop. 400VAC stb moto

Bessershmit, thank you for the info. I came across a new model that they are going to come out with called: Hydraulic driven trailerunit HT20F. Maybe they haven't finished testing on it. I tried to up load a picture of it but my file is too big and I can't post a link to it. The brochure is a pdf. It sounds like a great idea and from what I can find out, the customers, like you said, are very happy with the units.
