In supermarket rack systems, I see references to "fast recovery 300 psig." Can anyone tell me what this refers to? It does not have anything to do with refrigerant recovery.

Thanks much,

Christian

You are probably reading this on a controller? If so, then this mean @ 300 the controller will bring the condenser fans on to try and lower the head.

Basically, Brad, you are correct.

Fast recovery is a CPC/Emerson thing. They give you 2 levels of head pressure control.

One that is lower and a little slower. Once you hit the higher 'fast reovery' setpoint, your delays shorten and the fans ramp up faster.

Never completely understood WHY this was available, but there it is.

it is available for systems that dont use discharge xducer by itself to control head. fast recovery goes off of xducer only, while main control may be looking at liquid temp, drop leg pressure, and ambient in some kind of equation to run the unit "more effeciently" the fast recovery is a back up in case the 3-5 sensor control fails somewhere
