Anyone had experience with this code E5. Outdoor PCB faulty? compressor OL x2 and shutdown. As aposed to E6 code compressor lock and shutdown. Daikin don't give much detail just faulty outdoor board? There are 3 outdoor boards in this unit RXD60JVEA.

The E5 code relates to an overload of the Inverter compressor motor, whereas an E6 code relates to an overload of a 'Standard' compressor motor

Over temp klixon on top of the compressor has open circuited. Normally does so @ 110 degrees C.
Is the compressor body too hot to touch, could be a fault with Klixon (opening prematurely) or PCB if klixon has closed contacts and E5 is still generated.
Possible refrigeration or compressor issue causing compressor to get hot.
Remember by the time you get to site system has been shut down for sometime and compressor will have cooled down.

Yeah compressor is cold, does'nt even start up just goes out on E5 straight away. I can hear it click out and after two atempts E5. I will test continuity and maybe bridge out!. Could the compressor be siezed?

Have you metered the compressor windings? If windings are OK Check voltage output to compressor or use an inverter checker to check output.

There is a switch on the outdoor control PCB. If you hold it down for about 8 secs from memory the unit should go into forced operation and you should be able to tell if compressor is seized.

The control boards on this model dont last long if you are near a salty environment if they are not treated.

Cheers.

Ok got a result today, as suspected faulty outdoor PCB. Replaced PCB and got unit up and running. The service monitor red LEDs are your best diagnosis tool here, once power is reset red LEDs should be off indicating the fault has cleared. If PCB is faulty red LEDs will light up immediatley after power is reset with service monitor flashing.
