hi, can anybody explain me that what type of oil lubrication is present in screw compressor, because i have didnt seen any oil pressure cutout, oil pressure readings, high or low oil pressure. BSE 170 oil is used in this compressor. how to check the oil pressure and what type of lubrication is installed in this type of compressor?:(

hi these bitzer screws have sight glass and you can see oil level, and the oil pressure is suction pressure minus the discharge pressure, they also have oil temp sensor which is linked with the thermistor control module and discharge pipe temp sensor. they have built on oil seperator which seperates the oil from discharge gas, and the oil is pushed round the oil galleries ,lubricating the moving components, with discharge gas pressure, they are very good compressors with preloaded bearings

Sadiq, The above explanation pretty well covers it. The reason there is no oil pressure differential control is due to the compressor not having an oil pump to create oil pressure, therefore no control is needed as there is no oil pump to monitor.

There is also an oil flow switch in the main oil lube line ,which is probably one of the most critical to ensure enough oil is going into the compressor .
Usually 15 seconds delay on start up and 3 seconds delay after that .
Other safeties for oil can include float in oil seperator for low oil level .
Oil temp control for oil into compressor which can be oil cooler bypass / mixing valve to prevent oil dilution ( AMOT valve or similar ) .
