how to prove compressor works on domestics

where do i bridge the compressor supply power to prove the compressor has not seized??? On most of the domestics i have worked on there is the black box on the side of the compressor is it done from in there or is it done on the thermistat.

Black box is starting kit for particular compressor. You need to jump termostat, and if both compressor and starting kit is OK, compressor should start.
