I am working on a walk-in freezer. I do beverage service and a customer who bought and old bar here in las vegas wants to restore it for business. while doing the draft lines he asked me to fire up his walk-in freezer. Its is a heatcraft unit with a paragon mechanical defrost timer 8145-20 outside the door. I got the condensing unit to work on the roof but i cannot get the evaporator fans to operate in the box. i have power to everything. Please help is there something i am missing. Thanks alot, Chris

Very likely the coil needs to be frozen before the fans will operate. This prevents water from being blown out into the room after defrost.

if its low on gas/being shut down for some time, the coil wont frost if low.

Evap fans won't turn on until the evaporator klixon reaches the pre set temp. It will also do this after a defrost cycle. As stated check the charge and wiring. The fan and defrost circuits are ALL fed off the clock if wired correctly. Should be a wiring diagram inside the evap door.
