I have a central AC unit of trane for my home. Evaporator and blower are installed inside my home. Compressor and condenser with fan unit is installed on terrace. Thermostate switch is there to control temperature.

I am not getting cooling effect at all since start of this summer. Compressor is getting started and cut off within 30 seconds. When unit was operated last before 6 monts, it was working well.

What can be reason for this? lacking amount of refrigerant?

There could be several reasons but lack of refrigerant does seem the most likely.

It's probably kicking off on a low pressure switch; it may be very low on refrigerant.(?) - Darrell

Yes, it was kicking off on low pressure switch at presure of 45 psi while compressor running. The problem is solved after charging refrigerent upto running pressure of 65 psi.

DID you find the leak

I did not checked for leak as refrigerent piping are at intricate locations where it is difficult to reach. I decided to try finding leak if the problem persists.

The problem will persist if you had to add refrigerant you must have a leak
